Top Ten Horror Movies

In honor of halloween, I’m going to finally post a list of my top ten favorite movies from the roller coaster of movie genres, horror movies. The movies that excite you and frighten you, the movies that make you feel more involved than any other genre. Horror movies have been around since the beginning of film and they will be around until the end. Horror movies have gotten worse as the years pass, but I’m an optimist and one day they’ll get back on track. well, here it is, my top ten horror movies.

10. Alien 

A fantastic tension building horror/sci-fi classic that doesn’t let up until the credits role.

9. Saw

Sure all the sequels were absolutely terrible, sure the acting sucked, but I’m not gonna lie. I love the first Saw and especially love the ending of it.

8. Misery

A great movie with one of the most disturbing performances put on screen.

7. Halloween

A classic. This 1978 horror gem still makes people jump and scream in their living rooms nowadays.

6. Jaws

A great movie with great frights, some good laughs and a lot of fun characters.

5. Psycho

An incredibly directed horror movie with great acting, a great ending and many fantastic scenes thrown in the bunch.

4. SE7EN

The movie that the Saw series got it’s entire plot from isn’t just a creepy horror movie, but also a well-acted and entertaining drama.

3. The Thing

This classic horror movie ingeniously engineered to wonder the whole movie who the thing is. It’s gruesome, its messed up, its limy, its fun, and it works.

2. The Silence of the Lambs

The fantastic oscar winning horror movie has an amazing plot, amazingly creepy scenes, and one of the greatest characters ever put on screen.

1. The Shining

The Shining isn’t just a “the classic horror movie” its also just a fantastic movie. Amazingly directed, fantastic dialogue, fantastic acting and characters, and a string of some of the most amazing scenes put on film. The Shining is an incredible motion picture and if you haven’t seen it yet for a dark snowy night to watch it for the first time.
